A few days before Remembrance Day (November 11th in Canada) I like to have my children print the following poem on poppy paper. The pages are coloured and stapled together for a little booklet.

Each page contains one verse (3 pages in all). Underneath each row of words is a line so that they can copy the words.

This year I’m also going to have them do the following water colour. This gorgeous art can be found at “That Artist Woman’s” blog.

  1. We're just about to start our Remembrance Day activities, too. Each year we recite "In Flanders Fields", and "A Response to In Flanders Fields" at our assembly. I also read them "A Poppy Is To Remember". On Monday we're going to start our Legion poster contest … their art always amazes me.
